Another Roadside Attraction
“‘What would you like to see first?’ Amanda’s father asked his budding 12-year-old upon their arrival in Paris. ‘I’d like to visit the brothels,’ answered Amanda, scarcely looking up from her onion soup. Amanda’s papa refused to take is pubescent daughter into the Parisian fleshpots, but he did point them out to her from the window of a taxi. Whereupon the child asked, ‘Father, if you were in a whorehouse and you couldn’t finish, would it be permissible to ask for a bowser bag to take the leftovers home?’”

In the midst of reading it right now, very entertaining, & very reminiscent of Geek Love by Katherine Dunn (although ARA was written first). More on ARA when I’m done.
PS: went camping, pulled an all-nighter, had yet another public transportation debacle which wound up being very pleasant, sitting in my basement tired & recovering from the past two nights watching seasons of Ren & Stimpy.
